WHERE IS THE LOVE?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Where is the love?\u00a0 Where are the love poems?\u00a0 My new blog design from Word Press is now up and running and just waiting for some posts or comments, and most importantly, some poems.<\/p>\n

February has come and gone\u2014and no love poems.\u00a0 How many wonderful love poems have been written over the ages-some pining, some whining, some sweet and sticky, some grieving, some even angry?<\/p>\n

I confess, I\u2019ve been writing Love Imagined<\/em> for years and it remains a very thin manuscript.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 But here\u2019s to another year, another spring, another resurrection, another love(er) or at least another love poem.<\/p>\n

ASSIGNMENT: From Nikki Giovanni\u2019s love poem, \u201cResignation\u201d use the line \u201cI love you \/ because\u2026\u201d and keep writing.\u00a0 Send me your poem as a \u201ccomment\u201d or if you want a critique click on \u201cGet a Critique of Your Poem.\u201d\u00a0 Or if you want to critique my poem, feel free.\u00a0 I know it needs work!\u00a0 I love revising!\u00a0 Already I realize I should have a list poem (inside of this poem) because I didn’t mention my family that I love-my sisters my brother, my cousins, and my friends, etc.<\/p>\n

I love you <\/em><\/p>\n

Because<\/em> you are sixty years old and<\/p>\n

Write love poems to yourself and<\/p>\n

I love you <\/em><\/p>\n

Because you<\/em> stopped obsessing about finding a lover, but<\/p>\n

Didn\u2019t stop dreaming<\/p>\n

Of love<\/p>\n

I love you <\/em><\/p>\n

Because<\/em> love is your grandchildren, your sons, your step-daughters, your daughter-in-laws, and even your ex-husbands<\/p>\n

I love you<\/em><\/p>\n

Because<\/em> Mother is the woman who taught you to love even though she couldn\u2019t say<\/p>\n

\u201cI love you\u201d<\/p>\n

I love you<\/em><\/p>\n

Because <\/em>nothing is black and white and you understand that because your life is purple<\/p>\n

And red<\/p>\n

I love you<\/em><\/p>\n

Because <\/em>you survive gray days; weep and laugh and bellow and sigh and act<\/p>\n

Instead of react \u2013all in one day<\/p>\n

I love you<\/em><\/p>\n

Because <\/em>you\u2019ve got quite the imagination; you believe love<\/p>\n

Is other than hate\/there is no compromise, no balancing act, no antonym, no adjective<\/p>\n

No excuse to not love, and to not love big.<\/p>\n
